Laura Keaton

Founder + CEO

Laura Keaton founded Keaton Consulting in 1997, beginning her career in software test automation at a time when few organizations understood how critical system assurance would become.

Over the past 25+ years, she has led consulting teams across more than 1,000 engagements spanning training initiatives, global Centers of Excellence, performance engineering, and IT delivery optimization. Her work has consistently focused on one thing: understanding how complex technology behaves inside real operations and where hidden risk can impact the business.

That experience uniquely positioned her to recognize an emerging challenge long before it became widely discussed. As AI began entering everyday workflows, she saw a familiar pattern. Organizations could not clearly see how these systems were behaving, where exposure existed, or how to confidently manage the operational risk they introduced.

Today, she applies decades of software assurance and IT governance expertise to help leaders make the invisible operational risk of AI visible, measurable, and understandable.

Laura’s work sits at the intersection of technology behavior, operational risk, and leadership confidence in the age of AI.

The K.C. Journey

1998 - Foundations in System Assurance

KC began as a team of software test automation specialists supporting Mercury Interactive’s Professional Services Organization. Our work was consistently rated highest in delivery quality, rooted in a deep background in software assurance and a passion for understanding how systems truly behave.

2000 - Understanding System Behavior Under Stress

As performance engineering and system optimization emerged, KC expanded into protocol-level testing, system monitoring, and results analysis. This work provided early insight into how complex systems fail, degrade, and create hidden operational risk when placed under real-world conditions.

2006 - Scaling Automation Beyond Testing

Clients began entrusting KC with entire automation practices. The team implemented automation not only for testing, but for environment preparation, data validation, monitoring, and reporting. This broadened focus revealed how operational visibility, not just testing, drives productivity, control, and business value.

2020 - Expanding Into IT Delivery Visibility

KC extended its expertise beyond quality engineering into IT delivery optimization, working with technology leaders and operational teams to bring clarity, structure, and engineering discipline to increasingly complex delivery pipelines and enterprise systems.

2026 - Illuminating AI Inside Business Workflows

As AI rapidly entered everyday operations, KC recognized a familiar challenge. Organizations could not clearly see how AI-driven outputs were behaving inside real workflows or where operational exposure existed. Building on decades of experience in software assurance and IT governance, KC developed a new approach focused on making the invisible operational risk of AI visible, measurable, and understandable.
